The Quality Assurance Nurse:provides clinical guidance, evaluates clinical aspects of cases, and collaborates with all Department to ensure high quality practices and ongoing performance improvement.
Conducts death chart audits (medical record reviews) in assigned hospitals in LiveOnNY’s service area. The purpose of the reviews is to identify organ donor potential and barriers to the donation process.
Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.
Conducts real time review of active cases to specifically identify if the case was reported to LiveOnNY in a timely manner.
Reviews and trouble shoots any obstacles, communicating and reporting barriers and issues to the appropriate Department(s) at LiveOnNY.
Improving relationships with Hospital Partners to improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.

Serves as the lead preceptor in the field to all new and experienced staff responsible for obtaining authorization for organ and tissue donation. Provides clinical support to facilitate the start of an organ case after authorization is obtained. Responds to organ donor referrals at area hospitals, assesses potential organ donors, evaluates organ function, collaborates closely with hospital staff to assess hospital plan for the potential donor. The Donor Coordinator will effectively screen, triage all incoming organ, and tissue referrals. Provide hospital personnel and all callers with prompt, efficient processing of incoming and outgoing calls. Utilize Donor Center intake best practice to fully optimize organ and tissue referral potential for donation. Primary function is to support all intake referrals and logistically communicate to hospitals and medical examiner offices for holds and obtain additional information to optimize donation approach.

The Human Resource Manager: Responsible for the effective development, coordination and implementation of all human resource programs for the organization. The Clinical Quality Assurance Coordinator: Under the guidance of the Director of CQAPI and CQA Manager, responsible for clinical Quality Assurance review of LiveOnNY Organ and Tissue donor records to maintain regulatory compliance for accreditation, certification, and federal/state/local and other donation/transplantation requirements; aligns individual goals with departmental and organizational strategic goals/Key Performance Indicators for the purpose of improving organ/tissue donation rates throughout LiveOnNY’s Donor Service Area.
