  • Overview

    Monitors and promotes quality as it relates to organizational goals. Works with Manager to evaluate and improve workflow, maximize efficiencies and continually improve quality.


    Develops and maintains system for orderly storage and retrieval of all potential organ and tissue referrals and donors.


    Reviews organ and tissue records to ensure that all required documentation is present and in compliance with approved clinical practice and regulatory standards.


    Maintains databases to track performance and to facilitate ongoing QI.


    Conducts follow-up with staff to ensure completion and correction of documentation.


    Assists with implementing procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate agencies such as New York State Department of Health, AOPO, AATB, EBAA, JCAHO, CMS, etc


    Monitors all serologic testing results, maintains their confidentiality, and reports results as needed to appropriate agencies.


    Conducts preliminary review of recordings to identify appropriate documentation in order to assure compliance with approved practice standards and use of procedure protocols.


    Shares reviewed records with LiveOnNY management and affiliated agencies, files donor related paperwork.


    Requests culture results from hospital and/or laboratory, documents information in EMR and/or QI database, and reports results as needed to appropriate agencies, transplant centers and tissues banks.


    Completes information in DDR. Reviews and monitors PTR, and Feedback.


    Obtains, documents and shares recipient information from transplant hospital and transplant centers.  


    Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years minimum QA experience. Previous experience working with patient Medical Records a plus. Must obtain AATB/CTBS certification within three years. Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes desirable. Experience with regulatory agencies a plus.
