Responsible for the handling, decontamination, package process, documentation of production supplies, equipment, instruments to support all core related activities of the Preservation perfusion department.
Responsible for coordinating procedures to provide cold storage preservation of solid organs for transplantation and/or research for imported kidneys.
Monitors, maintains, troubleshoots and delivers Kidney Perfusion pumps to corresponding Transplant Centers.
Packages, stores and discards organs and/or tissue specimens until allocation and/or transportation arrangements are completed.
Maintains organ preservation lab and restocks equipment, supplies, solutions and other inventory as needed. Assists with maintaining stock par levels in preservation unit and tissue recovery department. Rotates stock to avoid product expiration.
Provides materials management, clerical and maintenance support for the Preservation unit and the Tissue Recovery department. Pre-packages preservation and tissue kits for local ORs. May deliver material supplies to field staff, when needed.
Coordinates surgical tray exchange with vendor. Maintains preservation instruments and responsible for replacing instruments in the preservation surgical trays.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school required. Basic knowledge of sterile technique is required. Minimum one year experience in shipping/receiving or materials management. Previous experience in OSHA Safety Standards preferred. CST certification preferred.
