  • Overview

    Responsible for the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of systems and provedures necessary to ensure LiveOnNY staff access to hospital based electronic medical records (EMRs). Works with individual hospitals, as well as, hospital systems and  LiveOnNY staff to ensure access, integrity and security necessary to facilitate the process of organ and tissue donation.  Requires knowledge of identity and access management best practices. Ability to clearly communicates access plans to organizational staff and internal/external stakeholders. 


    Establishes methodology for initiating systems using the support of  Hospital Services Specialists to gain access to key hospital personnel. Gains support of hospital leadership.


    Develops and manages the organizational process with partner hospitals for direct access to their Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Presents plans and strategies to hospital administration and IT professionals. Develops and documents the specific requirements of each hospital/hospital system. Develops and maintains EMR access for multiple external systems by establishing remote access protocols.  Proactively troubleshoots customer issues and ensures that staff issues are resolved promptly assuring continuity of access. Evaluates the magnitude of each issue so that they can be resolved or escalated accordingly.


    Ensures the set up and disabling of user access working with hospital account management teams for maintenance of user security roles and profiles. Develops best practices for EMR utilization. Identifies improvement opportunities.


    Assures confidentiality, data privacy and user access.


    Assists in the development of a unified data identifier for staff to ensure consistency in record keeping and reporting.


    Collaborates with external stakeholders to address and allocate available resources.


    Assists with management of SharePoint sites.




    B.S. in business, information technology or other health related field preferred. Three years OPO or Hospital Information systems experience required.


    Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a strong attention to detail. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills required. Must be a highly organized, resourceful and proactive individual who seeks solutions independently. Experience in identity access management, Internet security practices, HIPAA and project management preferred.


    Must possess proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Office Suite) and experience working with hospital EMR software.
