The Adminstrator On Duty: is responsible for the ongoing coordination of all potential donor related matters, including but not limited to onsite evaluation, approach, authorization, clinical management, organ allocation, and organ recovery.  The AOD ensures every donotion is optimized to increase organ utilization and is accountable for case outcomes. Serves as the primary and/or back-up Referral Administrator (RA).

 

 

*Must be able to work a Flex-Schedule.

 

*Shifts comprised of 13 (12.5-hour day/night) shifts and one (8-hour management) day shift as assigned.

 

Responsibilities

Administrator On Duty Responsibilities:

 

Provides field mentorship and training of the Clinical Services team and performs all the duties and responsibilities of the Transplant Coordinator on an as-needed basis.

 

Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.   

 

Maintains an awareness of all active referrals and pending activity to ensure optimal use of available resources.

 

Serves as the primary and/or back-up Referral Administrator (RA), accepts referral calls and assigns clinical staff as needed.

 

Manages all pending clinical cases and addresses any deviations from standard operating procedures in real-time. 

 

Collaborates with the clinical staff to obtain all pertinent information ensuring the suitability of all potential donors.

 

Analyzes and provides ongoing guidance on the clinical management and optimization of all potential donors.

 

Oversees and coordinates logistics associated with: operating room scheduling, surgical recovery team resources.

 

Oversees operating room nurses for surgical support, labs for analysis and the packaging and transport of organs.   

 

Maintains communication between team members and other personnel involved in donor cases.

 

Provides ongoing guidance and advises staff when working through operational challenges. 

 

Ensures consistent application and compliance with regulatory standards as well as organizational policies and procedures.

 

Provides oversight and verification of critical aspects of the donation process such as death notes, hemodilution, serology results, allocation variances, etc.   

 

Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Transplant Coordinator on an as-needed basis, including participation in the organ recovery process.

 

During on call shifts downtime, AODs cover case development duties and other duties related to reviewing occurrences.

 

Provides operating room support to all staff members including the anesthesia team.

 

Provides ongoing hemodynamic monitoring of the donor ensuring all needed resources are readily available throughout the recovery process. 

 

Collaborates with department leadership and clinical education to provide on-site training, mentorship and assessment of the clinical staff.  

 

Participates in meetings as assigned and scheduled. Reviews feedback on donors and donor process to improve quality of the process as warranted.

 

All downtime during on call shifts, AODs will cover case development duties and other duties related to reviewing occurrences.

Qualifications

Administrator On Duty Qualifications:

 

RN (BSN preferred), BS in biology or medical sciences and 3-5 yrs related experience and/or training.

 

CPTC with a 3-5 years minimmum related experience as an OPO Transplant Coordinator.

 

Minimum of 2 years experience as a Senior Transplant Coordinator.

 

Must have demonstrated ability to drive results.

Salary Range: $95,000 -$110,000
