The Hospital Services Specialist: Develops and implements strategies that increase organ and tissue donation in assigned hospitals within LiveOnNY's service area. Join us in helping New Yorkers live on by making New York number one in lives saved through donation.
This is an on-site role. Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
Develop and implement process improvement plans that increase organ and tissue donation.
Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of hospital data to maximize donor potential and identify hospital protocols that support best practices for donation.
Conduct educational needs assessment for assigned hospitals and develop and implement educational plans. Delivers professional education and lectures for healthcare professionals, functions as a subject matter expert for the advancement of organ and tissue donation.
Establish multi-disciplinary councils within assigned hospitals to forge a consensus about standards of practice for the donation process.
Fosters the culture of intradepartmental collaboration and cooperation necessary to maximize donation outcomes.
Maintains key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to initiate changes in practice to increase organ and tissue donation.
Bachelor's degree (. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum: 3 years related experience and/or training in healthcare setting.
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information to healthcare professionals, senior management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Must be proficient in PowerPoint and have an understanding of medical terminology.
Use of personal car required.
