The Human Resource Generalist (HRG) is responsible for ensuring the recruiting process aligns with the business objectives in respective departments. This includes activities that support LiveOnNY hiring process, employee benefits program and maintaining personnel records administration.  The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. Human Resources Generalist are expected to use prior experience and expertise to contribute to process improvement and business workflows.  The role supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.

 

Schedule

Work Hours: 9am -5:30pm Monday -Friday

Work Location: In-Office

Responsibilities

  • Conducts weekly talent strategy meetings with respective business departments to align on business needs.
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment, i.e., create/update job descriptions, screening and selection of talented candidates, design of structured interview questions, create offer letter for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Create a talent pipeline for critical business roles.
  • Participates in onboarding of new hires and ensures seamless transition into respective departments. 
  • Maintain knowledge of all employment regulations and collaborate with Learning and Development to ensure new hire orientation meets cultural equity and organizational guidelines.  Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning.
  • In collaboration with the Learning and Development team, the Human Resources Generalist will identify training needs for business units and individual development and coaching needs for leaders companywide
  • Acts as a benefits counselor for staff.  Assists in processing benefit enrollment, termination and change forms.
  • Creates and maintains all employee personnel, medical and training files and records. Maintains and ensures confidentiality of all paper and electronic files as well as personnel information.
  • Answer internal and external questions, by phone and in person on matters related to job opportunities, benefits and general information. Provide consistent answers that can be supported by the organization's human resources policies.
  • Coordinates termination process and paperwork.   Schedules exit interviews for voluntary resignations and tracks data for impact analysis.
  • Regularly measures employee engagement. Conduct stays and off-boarding interviews.  Administers and analyzes employee engagement survey. Communicate results and create action plans.
  • Acts as the LiveOnNY culture ambassador driving internal and external awareness of company core values. Acts as a spokesperson for teamwork, positivity, accountability, integrity and honesty.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 

Required:

Minimum of four years human resources generalist experience or Bachelor’s degree and two-year human resources generalist experience, including 1-2 years recruiting. Excellent communication, interpersonal, judgment skills and employment law knowledge required. Basic knowledge of human resources principles and practices required. An ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of personnel work and convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees. Computer literacy (Word, Excel) and familiarity with payroll procedures needed.

 

Preferred:

Master's degree preferred.

Salary: $80,000-$90,000
