Serves as the primary procurement surgeon at LiveOnNY available to perform abdominal organ procurements when the accepting transplant center declines to do so. This position is 80% procurement and 20% office based. Acts as a key ambassador for donation by modeling and controlling the intraoperative behavior of all recovery team members. In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, shall be responsible for clinical evaluation and management of potential and consented organ donors, and for implementing and monitoring all clinical policies, programs and services of LiveOnNY. Assumes the role of Medical Director in the absence of the Chief Medical Officer, to assure continuity of accountability for all activities. Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.

Responsible for the handling, decontamination, package process, documentation of production supplies, equipment, instruments to support all core related activities of the Preservation perfusion department.
Oversees training of new and current employees. Provides ongoing cross- training for Donor Coordinator staff. Effectively screens and manages donor referrals and other related telephone calls. Serves as primary reference for Donor Coordinators for potential issues or questions that arise during the off-shifts. Provides guidance to Donor Coordinators in the conduct of their daily activities. Serves as a model for excellent customer service. Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ and tissue donation.
